Make a Difference
We offer a wide range of giving options to support our mission of enriching the lives of children through the preservation and continuance of the musical traditions of the Southern Appalachian region.
You can make a one-time financial contribution, donate an instrument, or contribute to specific funds like the Ryan Hood Memorial Musician Fund, which provides scholarships for young musicians. Additionally, recurring donations allow you to support our programs on an ongoing basis, and we welcome corporate sponsorships or in-kind donations.
No matter how you choose to give, your generosity directly impacts our ability to provide music education and preserve the rich heritage of Appalachian music.
We are committed to enriching the lives of children by reconnecting them with the rich musical traditions of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Our work relies on the encouragement and financial support of the community to continue thriving. With your help, we can empower the next generation to carry this program forward, preserving the music and culture that define our region.
We invite you to join us in supporting our mission to inspire and educate through the power of music.
The Ryan Hood Memorial Musician Fund was created to provide scholarships for young musicians in the YAM program, honoring the legacy of Ryan Hood, a gifted young guitarist and pianist from Irmo. Ryan, who tragically passed at age 20, had a deep passion for helping those in need. His parents, Charles and Anita Hood, have strong connections to the Pickens community, where Charles grew up and graduated from Pickens High School in 1979. As part-time residents of Pickens, they are dedicated to preserving Ryan’s memory through this scholarship. Your donations to this fund will continue Ryan’s mission of supporting young musicians and fostering a love for music. Please reference the Ryan Hood Memorial Fund along with your donation.
We are in need of instruments to help support our young musicians. Specifically, we are seeking banjos ($250 each), fiddles ($150 each), and guitars ($150 each). Instruments are critical to the success of our program, as they provide the essential tools for students to learn, engage, and preserve the musical traditions of our region. If you have an instrument you would like to donate, your contribution will directly impact a young musician’s journey to connect with their musical heritage.
If you have instruments to donate, please contact us at 864.230.9695, or email.
